Raymond Briggs

Raymond Redvers Briggs was an English illustrator, cartoonist, graphic novelist and author. He was named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, abbreviated CBE.
In 1966 and in 1973, Briggs won the Kate Greenaway Medal.
Several photographic portraits of Briggs are held in the permanent collection of The National Portrait Gallery in London.
